On my first trip to Nigeria, I, my mum and my sister were going for the summer holidays. It was quite fun because there were a lot of things that I and my sister didn’t know about before we came. First we had to pack up our things before we left. It was quite exciting and boring having to pack up and yet still having some time to wait before we even set off to the airport. We set off full of energy, ready to go on the plane and finally go for the first time.
Security was the longest thing we had to do when we got there. At first all of us had to put our belongings in a large crate, then it went through a scanner to check for anything not allowed. After that we still had to wait for them to see if some things were allowed with on the plane. Soon after that, we were allowed to go to the waiting area to find the number of the boarding gate.
Waiting for take off! We were given the gate number. Dashing to the gate, we all couldn’t wait to finally get on the plane, each of us were itching to see how the inside looked like. The plane was so long and very lavish beyond belief. There were mini TVs for everyone, from the front to the back. The wait to go off was also long. It wasn’t until 10 minutes when we got on that we left.
Arrival was the moment we had all been waiting for, we had made it to Nigeria! It was the most exciting thing in all of our lives. We firstly had to unpack our things so we could sleep, when we did though, I didn’t feel any tiredness at all. I stayed awake for as long as my mum was asleep. Finally, we were going out. We went to a chicken farm where a lady gave me a chick to hold, thinking I would be scared of it. (Boy did I proved her wrong!) I ended up squeezing it so hard that it pooped and died! We spent up to 2 weeks there and then we came home for the rest of the summer.
