The Awakening of Flappy-Floppy

Running for their lives, they simply couldn’t out run the ferocious creature, or should I say puppet, following them. It was following their every move. The two girls dashed through the graveyard and straight into the forest, not knowing that they were being followed…

Before this all happened, Brittney and Sally were at a sleepover with their cousin, Max. He had a strange dummy called flappy-floppy. Sally, as the oldest, was obviously curious about how the dummy worked, so, she ended up playing with it. While she was, a piece of paper dropped out of the fat plastic dolls mouth. It had the words “Voodoo hoodoo joodoo moodoo”. She didn’t read the small inscription on the back also saying “Awaken this doll, if you dare…” Reading it out, she didn’t know how much pain she would cause on her family, but it was too late…

The three of them went to school after the holidays. The first task of the day was to talk about what had happened in their summer holidays. Max and Brittney didn’t have a problem with it, but Sally definitely did, she couldn’t bear to think about the no good, ugly to the core dummy, who she was clearly afraid of. The 5 minutes was up, Sally and another boy called Tom were working together. Brittney and Max both chose the time when they were on a balloon but they ran out of gas.

Since it was Halloween, people were telling scary stories to scare others. Sally and Tom came up with something pretty scary, but then Sally changed the story to something that she called: The legend of Flappy-Floppy. “It all began on a dark and stormy night, Max, Brittney and I were in the forest, practically lost, when out of nowhere, a knee sized  dummy jumped straight at us”…

She trailed off in a silent voice, quivering to add dramatic effects. …”And it was never heard from again.” There was silence for a moment. The silence was broken with a burst of laughter. “There is no such thing as a talking dummy Sally, it’s made up!” A boy blurted out randomly. Everyone booed off Sally and Tom, who was disappointed. Brittney and Max were next, their story.

When it was first break, Brittney and Max were talking about how to improve their story. They took quite a long time to realise that Sally wasn’t there, so they went over to her normal playground, where she played it her age friends. “What is it?” Sally was intrigued to know why they came over in such a rush. Just as they were about to say there reason, the bell rang.

“That’s strange, the bell doesn’t ring until 5:30, not 5:20?” Reluctantly, they all went, at the same time, up to their class. As they went, the lights were going off with every step they took. If that wasn’t enough, the speakers came to life and started the most sinister tune: “Ring a ring a roses”. This was too much for anyone to stop screaming. Finally, out of nowhere, when everyone thought it was over, Flappy-Floppy appeared. He was uglier than ever, teeth all yellow, hair orange- full of dandruff- and freaking everyone.

The dynamic three though they had out ran it, but they were wrong. It had caught up with them and came for pay back…

The gluttonous one

The first one was born on the 1st of June 1965. He wasn’t favoured everywhere he went, he also wasn’t going to be given the family heritage even though he was the first born. The second born however, did get the favour that his older brother wanted. The dad was soon going to die, and the older brother didn’t want to be left with no money, so he hired some people to kidnap the younger one. The younger one didn’t know what happened when he was captured…

5 years earlier…

The mum was still alive when the 1st son was born, however, she didn’t even get to see the second born child. The father loved her so much that he cherished him (the second born) so he would remember her through him. This is what made the elder child angry…

Wondering through the jungle, the boy walked endlessly until he stumbled into a deep sleep. The kidnappers were practically dragging him through the forest. It was the same, until two voodoo men trapped them in a net and took them to their shrine. When they got there, the voodoo men were discussing what they were going to do with them. Later, music started playing, and the kidnappers were going to be sacrificed to their gods first. The elder one had made a run for it, not bothering to help.

The entertainment had came in between the ceremony. Dancers were put on to entertain then whilst they waited for the boy to be sacrificed. A girl, similar in age, saw him and then danced slower.

By the time that the dance was over, the people who were meant to be sacrificed had all gone in the space of 5 minutes. He was the only one left. His heart soon started to ache with fear, for he knew, that in a few seconds, he would become nothing but ashes…

It was time for his experience of being turned into the gods’ food. The celebration had started all over again, dancers were called out once again. This was his chance to escape! Quickly dashing out of the cage, he went deep into the forest, not caring about whether it was day or night.

It was a bad idea to go off in the night though, and the guards were in hot pursuit. Finally, he was ever so close to the road, the lights attracted him over to a certain fork. Since it was a voodoo jungle, he had to choose wisely. He was scared of making the wrong decision and stayed there, trying to make an educative guess.

The guards had arrived at the fork, spears in hands and swords at the ready. The boy had nowhere to run or hide to, he was doomed…

Worlds Apart Part One

In February, 1880 when the weather was bitterly cold and out of the deep from the woods came a grumpy,  8 feet tall and huge in stature man. He looked so unkempt and slams his foot on the paving stones as he walked towards the village square of  Cookney, Aberdeenshire in the early hours of one Sunday morning. His footsteps woke up the whole village as pictures and clocks hanging on the walls fell down as he walked pass.

Before he could cover about 200 yards more than half of the villagers followed him wanting to see his face. No one had the courage to ask him his name or who he was. Only one lady had the courage to go up to him and ask. She was the nicest person in the whole village, so if anything she said was a good suggestion, the whole village would agree. She was very petty, and a day wouldn’t go by without some of the men lining up at her door, asking for her hand in marriage.

“What’s your name?” The roughen was about entering his home, but before he did, he gave a menacing stare that drove all the villagers away. The lady had followed him, a few of the men tried to stop her, but it was too late. On the way, the man found it strange that she wasn’t afraid of him…

The lady couldn’t help but to sing while wondering into the meaningless and empty forest, she wasn’t aware of her whereabouts or if someone or something was watching her. But she kept on singing. Humming to assure herself of any danger, she noticed that every time she hummed or sang a song, a lower voice would mix in and make a beautiful harmony. She decided to follow the voice until she came to a fork between two roads, the one on the left was higher than the voice on the right, but the left was also more louder, so she couldn’t decide which one to take.

It was the following day, and as usual, the men of the village would go to her door and ask for her hand in marriage, also bringing gifts to win her over, but alas, she wasn’t there. They had forgotten she was even gone, so the people of the village were all alerted and alarmed, because the most favoured person in the whole of the village, was gone. She was still picking though, until she took the right. It wasn’t a wise decision. It was extremely dark, even though it was day time. She was robbed of her sight as soon as soon as she chose the path, causing her to wonder through a totally different world. The whole town was panicking about where she was and if she was OK, even she herself couldn’t even force a squeak out of her mouth.

Suddenly, a pair of yellow eyes stared straight at her own, she

wanted to walk forward, but she found herself going backwards until she was falling, falling to her doom. The people of the village created a search party to look for her, but she had already gone down the hole. When she thought all hope was lost, a giant hand reached in for her and caught her.

The woman didn’t know where she was or when she got to this mysterious place, but she didn’t want to stick around to find out. She dashed for the village, but her sight was still robbed and she went in the wrong direction. For she had bumped into the feared man she was looking for. He was a complete stranger to only her. Everyone knew that he was the person who terrorized the village until someone had the courage to go and teach him a lesson and he was never seen again.
